My Hope...

I like to live for each day and enjoy what a new experience will bring to life.  I often say "I'm in" to what ever idea is thrown out there for the next experience or adventure.  This often leads to an exciting albeit overwhelming schedule at times.  My hope is that this blog will capture this attitude in spite of the ups and downs life throws at us.

Try something new. Get out there and learn. Travel. Explore. Run. Eat. Live.

Hayden Hawks

While Hayden Hawks is a well-known local runner from St. George Utah, he is relatively new to the trail racing scene. He started racing trails last year and it didn’t take him long to find success with podium finishes at Speedgoat 50k, North Face Endurance Challenge 50 SF and Chuckanut 50K. His recent 100k debut in August was UTMBs CCC 100k, where he placed 1st with a comfortable lead ahead of last year’s winner being one of the only, if not the only Americans to ever win that race.

Hayden is going to share his Training and Recovery Strategies as well as talk about his recent race experiences.

Cory Reese

Cory Reese is a columnist for UltraRunning Magazine and author of the best-selling book "Nowhere Near First: Ultramarathon Adventures From The Back Of The Pack". He has run dozens of ultras including Badwater in Death Valley. When he’s not running, Cory is a husband, father, medical social worker, and race director. His adventures, stories, and pictures can be found at

Cory's presentation will focus on tools for building mental strength leading up to a race, and strategies for developing the mental focus to excel during races. By the end of the workshop, you will have a better grasp on how to dig deep, how to keep going when times get tough, and how to reach your maximum potential.
